9-4-2010 Lion at St. Louis Zoo

Do you see the lion?  This is about the only good shot I got at the St. Louis Zoo. It really was the least photogenic zoo I had been to.

Nanette had fun visiting my Grammy and Papa.  She found this little light and had a blast with it.

I could spend all day shooting my grandparents fire place but I didn't.  I only got a couple of shots and this is one of them.

So in the back of my grandparents property sits a few apple and other fruit trees.  I got this shot of some apples on the ground and thought it turned out well.  I also got a ton of other great shots that I will share soon.

08-31-2010 Kansas Lightning

I know it's been a few days since my last post.  I didn't take any photos on the 28th and 29th as I was getting ready for our trip to Kansas.  After a 14 hour drive we made it and where greeted with an amazing lightning storm passing to the north of where we where.  I got a lot of great photos out of this shoot and will most more soon.

What feels like my first real photo attempt in days.  I drove past this abandoned house on my way to another location decided to stop.  Didn't have a lot of time but I got this great shot of the front door.  Turned out really cool.  One of my favorites so far.

08-20-2010 Electric Shrooms

Jodie saw these out back first thing this morning in one of our potted grasses.  So after getting the yard mowed I took the opprotunity to take some HDR photos of them.  Why am I shoot so much in HDR you ask?  Two reasons.  One I am trying to learn it better and two I can look really cool.  More of the shrooms can be found here.

It's been a while since I caught a lighting bolt image.  We had a storm blowing by and this is the only good shot I got.

8-12-2010 iTunes Visualizer

So this evening I was playing some music on the laptop.  I decided to hook the laptop up to the TV and stereo and trow the visualizer up on the screen.  The kids loved it and we had a blast all evening playing, watching and listening music.  So it is the end of the day and no photo yet. So I wondered how it would look photographed with a time delay.  Hence your photo of the day.  You can see more here.

8-11-2010 Well/Trough thingy.

OK, So today I saw several fire trucks tearing off out of town. After gassing up I decided to go check it out and see if I could get my photo of the day.  Well I found it but it was way back down a private drive behind a house and you couldn't see much.  I wasn't about to go down the drive to get the pic plus I had my kiddos with me.  So I drove around on one of the surrounding roads and found this.  So these are my photos for today and that's my story.

Yeah really didn't have an idea for the day so I took this photo.  Kind of cool.

08-09-2010 Geese at the pond

OK, There is a lot of new construction going on around our new hospital that is opening soon.  So I went investigating and found a pond with fountains, water falls and bridges.  Kind of cool.  I took a few shots but sun was already high and the photos uninteresting.  So this is the best one.

Yeah we actually had a rain storm here.  Much needed relief from the heat for a few hours anyway.  Went outside and took this shot.  Turned out really well I think.

Ok so I didn't take a photo yesterday as I was playing with my new toy so I made up for it this today with two photos.  I'm really digging the old books and bible subject and tried to build on it some.

This is a grandfather clock Jodie's Grandfather made.  The clock parts are not working but we put this tea pot in the window.  I have finally taken a pic of it.
